Streaming the Web: Reasoning over dynamic data
In the last few years a new research area, called stream reasoning, emerged to bridge the gap between reasoning and stream processing. While current reasoning approaches are designed to work on mainly static data, the Web is, on the other hand, extremely dynamic: information is frequently changed and updated, and new data is continuously generated from a huge number of sources, often at high ra...
متن کاملStreaming Queries over Streaming Data
Recent work on querying data streams has focused on systems where newly arriving data is processed and continuously streamed to the user in real-time. In many emerging applications, however, ad hoc queries and/or intermittent connectivity also require the processing of data that arrives prior to query submission or during a period of disconnection. For such applications, we have developed PSoup...
متن کاملStreaming data between Web Services. Comparison of streaming protocols over a stream-enabled Web Service
The ability to stream data between web-services is vital for the implementation of complex workflows on the Grid. In this work we investigate various protocols as to their suitability for streaming, taking into consideration issues such as security, reliability and speed over different Grid configurations. To perform these comparisons we have implemented a Server/Client web service that provide...
متن کاملMarvin: Distributed reasoning over large-scale Semantic Web data
Many Semantic Web problems are difficult to solve through common divide-and-conquer strategies, since they are hard to partition. We present Marvin, a parallel and distributed platform for processing large amounts of RDF data, on a network of loosely-coupled peers. We present our divide-conquer-swap strategy and show that this model converges towards completeness. Within this strategy, we addre...
متن کاملReasoning over Dynamic Data in Expressive Knowledge Bases with Rscale
We introduce Rscale, a secondary storage-aware OWL 2 RL reasoning system capable of dealing with incremental additions and deletions of facts. Our initial evaluation indicates that Rscale is suitable for stream reasoning scenarios characterized by expressive reasoning tasks triggered by a moderate change frequency.
